Paediatric physiotherapy in Delhi is about movement: how a child holds themselves, gets around, and does the physical parts of an ordinary day. The short answer is both our Delhi centres, Vasant Kunj and Malviya Nagar, and which one is a question of your journey rather than of the service. It is not occupational therapy, which works on tasks rather than on movement itself.

Which of our Delhi centres you would use
We have two centres in Delhi, and which one you use is a question of geography rather than service, because the same pathway runs at both.
eMbrace Vasant Kunj, at C-7, Sector C, Pocket 5, Grand Vasant Kunj, is the larger team and serves south-west Delhi: Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K. Puram, Safdarjung Enclave, Anand Niketan, Shanti Niketan, Moti Bagh and Chanakyapuri.
eMbrace at Rainbow, Malviya Nagar, at FC-29, Plot No. 5, Geetanjali, beside Malviya Nagar Metro Station Gate No. 1, serves the Yellow Line corridor through Saket, Hauz Khas and Green Park, and the drive-in catchment of Greater Kailash and Defence Colony. It runs inside Rainbow Children's Hospital, so multidisciplinary therapy sits in the same building as assessment.
If you are in north or west Delhi, either centre is a real journey, and we would usually suggest starting online and coming in only for the parts that have to happen in a room.
Blocks of weekly sessions with a home programme between them, and the home programme is what moves things. Muscles respond to what happens most days, not to what happens on a Thursday, so we would rather set five minutes daily that you will actually do than twenty you will not.
For parking, the nearest drop-off point and the quickest route at your particular time of day, ask on the intake call. Traffic and parking around every one of these centres change enough through the day that current directions from someone who works there beat anything we could fix on a web page.
When physiotherapy is the right call
Physiotherapy is for movement itself: tone, strength, balance, coordination and how a child gets from one position to another. Where the difficulty is with a task rather than with movement, occupational therapy is the better fit, and we say so on the intake call rather than take the booking.
- Not sitting, crawling or walking within the expected range, or a marked difference between the two sides of the body
- Low or high muscle tone affecting posture, feeding position or endurance
- Cerebral palsy, neurological conditions, or physical recovery after illness or surgery
- A child who tires far faster than peers in physical activity
The clinical detail sits on our physiotherapy page.
What the first appointment involves
A physical assessment of tone, range of movement, strength, posture, balance and how your child moves between positions, alongside a history of pregnancy, birth and milestones. You leave with a baseline and a home programme, and goals stated as things your child will be able to do rather than as measurements.
What we see most of
At Malviya Nagar, which runs inside Rainbow, physiotherapy sits alongside occupational therapy, speech therapy and paediatric care, so a child needing more than one is not sent on a fresh search for each. The commonest referrals are motor delay in the first two years and neurological conditions including cerebral palsy.
Who you would see
Dr Supriya Malik, Founder and CEO, and Head of the Child Development Centre at Rainbow
PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Birmingham, where she was also a postdoctoral researcher, and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in the UK. She designed the assessment and therapy pathways every eMbrace centre runs.
Across our Delhi centres, the clinicians who take this work are:
Abha Mattoo, Paediatric Physiotherapist
Abha Mattoo holds an MPT in Neurological Sciences with a paediatrics elective from Sikkim Manipal University and a BPT from H.N.B. Garhwal University. She works in paediatric neurological and cardiothoracic rehabilitation, and previously ran early intervention rehabilitation for children with autism and ADHD at the Sangamitra Centre in Bengaluru.
Which of them you see is decided on the intake call rather than by whoever has the next free slot, and you are told who it will be before you book. Fuller biographies are on our about page.
Schools and services we already work with
Physiotherapy around Delhi usually sits inside something larger, and these are the settings it connects to.
Our Malviya Nagar centre runs inside Rainbow Children's Hospital, New Delhi, which is why occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, behaviour therapy and special education sit in the same building as assessment.
Through The Medical Travel Company we provide autism and ADHD assessment and therapy for families in the UK, across Africa and elsewhere in India, on hybrid, in-person and online programmes.
Fees and how long it runs
Fees are quoted upfront on your intake call and depend on frequency. Courses run in blocks with a review at the end rather than open-ended.
How long depends on what is being treated. Recovery after an illness is finite. A neurological condition is a long-term programme that changes as a child grows, and we say that plainly at the start.
Frequently asked questions
Physiotherapy works on movement itself: tone, strength, balance and coordination. Occupational therapy works on tasks, such as dressing, handwriting or tolerating a noisy room.
Our Malviya Nagar centre inside Rainbow, at FC-29 Geetanjali beside Malviya Nagar Metro Station Gate No. 1, where the other therapies also run.
No. Motor delay in the first two years is the commonest reason children are referred to us, and early is better than certain.
Most of it. Muscles respond to what happens most days, so the home programme moves more than the weekly session does.
Quoted upfront on your free 15-minute intake call, depending on how often sessions run.
Book, or check first
Start with the free 15-minute intake call. It is with a clinician, fees are quoted on it, and if we are not the right service for your child we will tell you on that call rather than after you have paid for an appointment.
