Developmental paediatrics in Delhi sits where medicine and development meet: milestones, growth, and the medical questions that can sit underneath a developmental difficulty. The short answer is both our Delhi centres, Vasant Kunj and Malviya Nagar, and which one is a question of your journey rather than of the service. This page is clear about which parts of that we do ourselves and which need a doctor.

Which of our Delhi centres you would use
We have two centres in Delhi, and which one you use is a question of geography rather than service, because the same pathway runs at both.
eMbrace Vasant Kunj, at C-7, Sector C, Pocket 5, Grand Vasant Kunj, is the larger team and serves south-west Delhi: Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K. Puram, Safdarjung Enclave, Anand Niketan, Shanti Niketan, Moti Bagh and Chanakyapuri.
eMbrace at Rainbow, Malviya Nagar, at FC-29, Plot No. 5, Geetanjali, beside Malviya Nagar Metro Station Gate No. 1, serves the Yellow Line corridor through Saket, Hauz Khas and Green Park, and the drive-in catchment of Greater Kailash and Defence Colony. It runs inside Rainbow Children's Hospital, so multidisciplinary therapy sits in the same building as assessment.
If you are in north or west Delhi, either centre is a real journey, and we would usually suggest starting online and coming in only for the parts that have to happen in a room.
Developmental assessment with us is a small number of appointments rather than an ongoing commitment. Where a medical review is needed alongside it, that runs on its own schedule, and we would rather coordinate the two than have you manage two unconnected processes.
For parking, the nearest drop-off point and the quickest route at your particular time of day, ask on the intake call. Traffic and parking around every one of these centres change enough through the day that current directions from someone who works there beat anything we could fix on a web page.
What this work covers
The developmental question is whether a child is progressing as expected across communication, motor, cognitive, social and self-care skills, and if not, why. Some of the answers are developmental, which is our work. Some are medical, which is not.
- Milestones delayed in one area or several, where the cause has not been established
- Regression, meaning loss of skills previously held, which needs prompt medical as well as developmental review
- Developmental concerns alongside prematurity, a genetic condition or a birth complication
- A developmental difficulty where a medical explanation has not yet been excluded
The clinical detail sits on our developmental paediatrics page.
What we do, and what we refer
We do the developmental assessment: mapping a child across all areas, producing a written baseline, and identifying which therapies would help. That is the majority of what most families need and it does not require a doctor.
We do not prescribe, investigate or diagnose medical conditions. Where the picture suggests one, we say so and point you to the right medical service rather than working around it.
What we see most of
Most Delhi referrals are about early milestones, particularly speech and motor together, in the first three years. Because our Malviya Nagar centre runs inside Rainbow, families needing both the developmental assessment and a paediatric opinion can usually get them at one address rather than two.
Who you would see
Dr Supriya Malik, Founder and CEO, and Head of the Child Development Centre at Rainbow
PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Birmingham, where she was also a postdoctoral researcher, and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in the UK. She designed the assessment and therapy pathways every eMbrace centre runs.
We should be straight about what we are. eMbrace is a psychology and therapy practice, and a developmental paediatrician is a doctor. Our team carries out the developmental and psychological assessment side of this work. Where a medical opinion, investigation or prescription is needed, that comes from a paediatrician rather than from us, and our Malviya Nagar centre runs inside Rainbow, which is the practical reason that referral is usually short.
Schools and services we already work with
Because this work spans medical and developmental care, who we connect to around Delhi matters:
Our Malviya Nagar centre runs inside Rainbow Children's Hospital, New Delhi, which is why occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, behaviour therapy and special education sit in the same building as assessment.
Where a child or adult needs psychiatric input, we work with Sukoon across Delhi NCR for psychiatric assessment, consultation and medication management, so you are not left to find a psychiatrist yourself.
Fees and what to expect
Fees are quoted upfront on your intake call and cover the developmental assessment, report and feedback. Any medical care sits outside that and is not ours to quote.
If what you need is a doctor rather than a psychologist, we will tell you on the free intake call, and you will not have paid us anything to find out.
Frequently asked questions
We are a psychology and therapy practice. We do the developmental and psychological assessment; a medical opinion or prescription comes from a paediatrician.
Map your child across all developmental areas, produce a written baseline, and identify which therapies would help. That is most of what families need and needs no doctor.
Our Malviya Nagar centre runs inside Rainbow, which is the practical reason that referral is usually short rather than a fresh search.
Seek medical review promptly as well as developmental assessment. Regression at any age needs both, and quickly.
Quoted upfront on your free 15-minute intake call. It covers assessment, report and feedback; medical care sits outside it.
Book, or check first
Start with the free 15-minute intake call. It is with a clinician, fees are quoted on it, and if we are not the right service for your child we will tell you on that call rather than after you have paid for an appointment.
