ADHD Assessment in South Delhi

An ADHD assessment in South Delhi is a finite piece of work with a written report at the end of it, not an open-ended course of therapy. The short answer is either of our two south Delhi centres, Malviya Nagar or Vasant Kunj, and which one is a question of your journey rather than of the service. This page sets out what the assessment involves, what the report is and is not accepted for, and who would carry it out.

Which eMbrace centre South Delhi families use

Both our Delhi centres are in south Delhi, which makes this the one part of the city where you have a real choice rather than a nearest option.

eMbrace at Rainbow, Malviya Nagar, at FC-29, Plot No. 5, Geetanjali, sits beside Malviya Nagar Metro Station Gate No. 1 on the Yellow Line. It is the closer centre from Saket, Hauz Khas, Green Park, Greater Kailash and Defence Colony, and because it runs inside Rainbow Children's Hospital, therapy across occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy is in the same building.

eMbrace Vasant Kunj, at C-7, Sector C, Pocket 5, Grand Vasant Kunj, is the closer centre from Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K. Puram and Safdarjung Enclave, and carries the larger clinical team.

Unlike therapy this has a defined end: two or three appointments over a few weeks plus report writing, so it is a handful of trips rather than a weekly commitment, and we group the testing where the journey is long. One part cannot happen at our end at all. Teacher rating scales need filling in by someone who sees your child in a classroom, and how quickly school returns them usually decides the timeline.

For parking, the nearest drop-off point and the quickest route at your particular time of day, ask on the intake call. Traffic and parking around every one of these centres change enough through the day that current directions from someone who works there beat anything we could fix on a web page.

When an ADHD assessment is worth doing

Assessment is worth doing when the answer would change something. If a diagnosis would unlock accommodations at school or work, settle a long-running disagreement about whether a child is careless or struggling, or open the door to medication, it earns its place. If nothing would be done differently afterwards, it is worth saying so before you spend the money.

• Difficulties present before age twelve and showing up in more than one setting, not only at home or only at school
• Attention, organisation or impulsivity problems that are out of step with the person’s ability
• A bright child working far harder than classmates for the same result
• An adult who recognises the pattern in themselves, often after a child has been assessed

What the assessment actually involves

ADHD cannot be diagnosed from a single questionnaire, and anywhere offering that is not doing an assessment. Ours combines a detailed developmental and clinical history, standardised rating scales completed by more than one person, and direct testing of attention, memory and executive function, drawing on instruments such as Conners 3, CBCL, BASC-3, BRIEF-2, NEPSY-II and the Wechsler scales.

The multi-informant part is not optional. A scale filled in only by a parent describes home, and ADHD is defined partly by showing up in more than one place. Where school has not noticed, that is useful information rather than a problem.

What brings people to ADHD assessment here

Across south Delhi the assessment caseload is shaped by school density and by the point in the curriculum where self-directed work takes over. A large share of referrals cluster around the transition into the senior years, when external structure falls away and a compensating child stops coping.

Board years are the other cluster, where families want to know whether accommodations are available and what they would need to obtain them. That is a question about certification requirements as much as about diagnosis, and we would rather answer both.

Schools and services we already work with

A good deal of our assessment work around South Delhi reaches us through institutions rather than directly, and the referral routes are worth knowing about.

Since 2025 Ashoka University in Sonepat has referred students to us for psychoeducational and cognitive assessment, and for neurodiversity assessment covering autism and ADHD.

At the American Embassy School in Chanakyapuri we carry out psychoeducational, cognitive, comprehensive and brief assessments, including risk assessments, and provide therapy for children and adolescents.

Where a child or adult needs psychiatric input, we work with Sukoon across Delhi NCR for psychiatric assessment, consultation and medication management, so you are not left to find a psychiatrist yourself.

Fees, the report, and what it is accepted for

Fees are quoted upfront on your intake call. Assessment is priced as a piece of work covering testing, report and feedback, not per session. The report names the instruments used, gives the scores, states the conclusion plainly and sets out specific recommendations. Ask any provider for that standard before you pay.

On what it is accepted for, which is where families are most often misled: a good report supports classroom accommodations, and most schools act on it. Formal board concessions are separate. Requirements differ by board and frequently involve a designated government centre, so we tell you what yours needs rather than leaving you to find out afterwards. Medication is a prescribing decision, and we work with Sukoon across Delhi NCR where it is being considered.
