Adult counselling in Vasant Kunj is therapy for you, booked by you, with nobody else in the loop. The centre is in Vasant Kunj itself. Most people who contact us have been thinking about it for a year or more, so if you are only at the point of reading a page about it, that is a normal place to start.

Our Vasant Kunj centre
This is the one locality page where the centre really is in the locality. eMbrace Vasant Kunj is at C-7, Sector C, Pocket 5, in the basement of Grand Vasant Kunj, New Delhi 110070.
It is our largest team, and the practical consequence is choice: if a clinician is not the right fit for your child, or you need a particular language, there is somebody else in the building rather than a wait for the one person who does that work.
Families reach us here from across south-west Delhi, including Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K. Puram, Safdarjung Enclave, Anand Niketan, Shanti Niketan, West End Colony, Moti Bagh and Chanakyapuri.
The obstacle for most adults is not the fee, it is the working week. Sessions run weekly, and the slots that survive are early morning, late evening and weekends rather than the middle of a working day. Tell us what your week looks like and we will say honestly whether we can fit it, rather than booking you into something you start cancelling by week four.
For parking, the nearest drop-off point and the quickest route at your particular time of day, ask on the intake call. Traffic and parking around every one of these centres change enough through the day that current directions from someone who works there beat anything we could fix on a web page.
When counselling is worth starting
There is no threshold you have to cross to deserve therapy, and the commonest reason people give for not starting sooner is that other people have it worse. That is true of almost everyone and it is not a useful test. A more useful one is whether something has been going on long enough that you have stopped expecting it to lift on its own.
- Low mood, anxiety or irritability that has become the normal setting rather than a bad patch
- Burnout: still functioning at work, running on empty, and no longer recovering at weekends
- A bereavement, separation, diagnosis or move that has not settled the way you assumed it would
- The same pattern repeating across relationships, jobs or friendships
- Drinking, working or scrolling noticeably more in order to not think about something
Anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, workplace stress, trauma and relationship difficulties each have their own page on our adult mental health hub.
What the first session is like, and who knows about it
The first session is a conversation, not an assessment. By the end you should have a plain-language account of what seems to be going on and a suggested way of working. You are not obliged to continue and you will not be sold a package.
On discretion, which people ask about far more than method: what you say stays between you and your therapist. Nothing reaches your employer, family or doctor without your written consent, including where an employer is paying. The only limit is serious risk.
What adults come to us with here
Vasant Kunj carries the broadest adult caseload and the most international. Distinctive themes: relocation and the loss that comes with it, the strain on a trailing partner who gave up work to move, and the isolation of living in a city where your entire social world is other people who will also leave.
This is also where couples and marital work is concentrated, and where most of our trauma-focused adult work runs, because the clinicians who do that work sit at this centre.
Who you would see at our Vasant Kunj centre
Dr Supriya Malik, Founder and CEO
PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Birmingham, where she was also a postdoctoral researcher, and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in the UK. She works across the lifespan, including anxiety and depression in adults, and designed the pathways every eMbrace centre runs.
At our Vasant Kunj centre, the clinicians who take this work are:
Dr Mahima Sahi, Clinical Director
Dr Mahima Sahi holds a PhD in Psychology and leads clinical supervision and therapist training across the practice. She is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy to Levels 1 and 2 in the USA, and in trauma-informed somatic and memory reconsolidation work through NICABM. Her own caseload is adult: developmental trauma, attachment injuries and high-functioning burnout.
Shruti Ghosh, Clinical Psychologist
M.Phil in Clinical Psychology with distinction from Amity University, Noida, and UGC-NET qualified. CBT, DBT, ACT and Parent Management Training across neurodevelopmental, mood and obsessive-compulsive presentations. Works in Hindi, English and Bengali.
Taranpreet Kaur, Clinical Psychologist
M.Phil in Clinical Psychology with distinction, plus a Post Graduate Diploma in School Counselling from Symbiosis. ACT and MBCT for anxiety, depression, OCD and trauma, and comprehensive psychological assessment. Works in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
Mannat Kaur Arora, Psychologist
Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology from Amity University Haryana and an MA in Psychology from the University of Delhi. Assessment across MISIC, WISC-IV, Conners 3, CBCL, ISAA, CARS and the NIMHANS SLD battery. Works in English and Hindi.
Which of them you see is decided on the intake call rather than by whoever has the next free slot, and you are told who it will be before you book. Fuller biographies are on our about page.
Schools and services we already work with
Some of the adult work we do around Vasant Kunj runs through employers and partner services rather than through this website, which is often how someone first reaches us.
Through The Medical Travel Company we provide autism and ADHD assessment and therapy for families in the UK, across Africa and elsewhere in India, on hybrid, in-person and online programmes.
We are a mental health partner for corporates working with WTW, providing therapy support, assessment and workshops.
Where a child or adult needs psychiatric input, we work with Sukoon across Delhi NCR for psychiatric assessment, consultation and medication management, so you are not left to find a psychiatrist yourself.
Fees, how long it runs, and couples work
Fees are quoted upfront on your intake call, before anything is booked. Where an employer or partner service is funding the work, we tell you how many sessions that covers before you start rather than when it runs out.
Focused work on a specific difficulty often runs eight to twelve sessions. Long-standing patterns and trauma work run considerably longer, and we say which we think applies rather than leaving you to find out. Couples work is a separate strand, starting with a joint session and an individual session with each partner.
Frequently asked questions
At C-7, Sector C, Pocket 5, in the basement of Grand Vasant Kunj. It carries our largest adult team, including the couples and trauma-focused work.
Yes, including Gottman-informed work adapted for the Indian context. It usually starts with a joint session and an individual session with each partner.
It is one of the commonest reasons people come to us here. The strain on a trailing partner is real and routinely underestimated by everyone including the person carrying it.
Largely, yes. This is our biggest team, so tell us on the intake call what would suit, including language, and we will match on that rather than on availability.
Fees are quoted upfront on your free 15-minute intake call, and depend on which clinician you see and what the work involves.
Book, or check first
Start with the free 15-minute intake call. It is with a clinician, fees are quoted on it, and if we are not the right service for your child we will tell you on that call rather than after you have paid for an appointment.
