Child Psychologist in Gurgaon

Professional child psychology services at our Gurugram centre on MG Road, Sector 24, Haryana.

If you are looking for a child psychologist in Gurgaon, this page tells you which of our centres you would actually come to, what happens at the first appointment and who you would see. The centre is in Gurgaon itself. Nothing is booked until you have had a free 15-minute intake call, which is with a clinician rather than a receptionist.

Our Gurugram centre

eMbrace Gurugram is at 710, DLF City Court, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, Nathupur, Sector 24, Gurugram 122002. Guru Dronacharya on the Yellow Line is roughly 700 metres away, which makes this one of the few specialist child psychology services in Gurugram you can reach without a car.

That matters for families coming from DLF Phases 1 to 4, Sushant Lok, Sector 54 and the sectors around it, and it matters again for teenagers who would rather come to a session independently than be dropped off by a parent.

Delhi families sometimes choose Gurugram over our Delhi centres simply because the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road run is easier from where they live than crossing south Delhi. Either centre is fine, and the same pathway runs at both.

Worth knowing before you plan the journey: seeing a child psychologist starts as a small number of appointments, not a standing weekly commitment. The consultation, the parent history and the feedback session are usually three visits over a few weeks. Whether anything follows, and how often, is decided at the feedback session with you rather than assumed at the start.

For parking, the nearest drop-off point and the quickest route at your particular time of day, ask on the intake call. Traffic and parking around every one of these centres change enough through the day that current directions from someone who works there beat anything we could fix on a web page.

When a child psychologist is the right call

Most of what worries parents is developmentally ordinary and passes. What separates the two is not how bad the behaviour looks on its worst day, but whether it has persisted, whether it shows up in more than one setting, and whether it has started to get in the way of ordinary life.

  • The same difficulty at home and at school, rather than in only one place
  • A change that has lasted more than a few weeks and is not shifting
  • Anxiety that has started to shrink what your child will attempt
  • Any talk of self-harm, at any age, which warrants an appointment the same week

The longer version, including the signs that usually do not need a psychologist at all, is on our child psychology hub.

What happens at your first appointment

The first appointment is a consultation, not a test. Nothing is diagnosed on day one. You start with the free 15-minute intake call, then a parent history session usually without your child present, then a session with your child pitched to their age, then a feedback session where you get the formulation in plain language, a written summary and a plan with a review point in it.

Bring school reports and any previous assessment. If a class teacher or school counsellor knows your child well, their observations are often the single most useful thing you can bring.

What we see most often

The Gurugram caseload skews younger and more developmental than our Delhi centres. The commonest referrals are attention and regulation difficulties in primary-age children, social communication concerns in the early years, and behaviour that has become difficult to manage at home.

The second pattern is adolescent anxiety, particularly around academic pressure, and here the metro connection does real work: teenagers who would refuse to be driven to a session by a parent will often come on the metro themselves, and a teenager who arrives under their own steam engages very differently.

Who you would see at our Gurugram centre

Dr Supriya Malik, Founder and CEO, and Head of the Child Development Centre at Rainbow

PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Birmingham, where she was also a postdoctoral researcher, and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in the UK. She designed the assessment and therapy pathways every eMbrace centre runs.

At our Gurugram centre, the clinicians who take this work are:

Mannat Kaur Arora, Psychologist

Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology from Amity University Haryana and an MA in Psychology from the University of Delhi. Assessment across MISIC, WISC-IV, Conners 3, CBCL, ISAA, CARS and the NIMHANS SLD battery. Works in English and Hindi.

Which of them you see is decided on the intake call rather than by whoever has the next free slot, and you are told who it will be before you book. Fuller biographies are on our about page.

Schools and services we already work with

Some of what we do around Gurgaon happens inside institutions rather than at a centre, which is often how a family first hears of us.

We work with Pathways School Gurgaon on psychoeducational, cognitive and risk assessments, therapy for children and adolescents, and workshops for teachers, parents and pupils.

Where a child or adult needs psychiatric input, we work with Sukoon across Delhi NCR for psychiatric assessment, consultation and medication management, so you are not left to find a psychiatrist yourself.

Fees and timelines

Fees are quoted upfront on your intake call, before anything is booked. We do not publish a number because it depends on which clinician you see and what the work involves, and a figure on a web page would be a guess at your situation rather than a price for it.

A therapy course is reviewed formally at around session six, and we would expect you to be seeing some change by then. If you are not, that is a reason to change the plan rather than persist with it.

Frequently asked questions

At 710, DLF City Court, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, Nathupur, Sector 24, with Guru Dronacharya on the Yellow Line roughly 700 metres away, so it is reachable by metro rather than only by car.

We see children from around two years old through to eighteen. For under-fives the work is largely with parents and play-based with the child, since young children show difficulty rather than describing it.

Yes, and many do, given the centre is on MG Road. We would still want at least one parent session, and for under-eighteens we agree the confidentiality boundaries with everyone at the start.

No. The first appointment is a consultation. A diagnosis, where one is appropriate at all, follows structured assessment across more than one session and more than one source of information.

Fees are quoted upfront on your free 15-minute intake call, before you book anything. The figure depends on which clinician you see and what the work involves, so we quote your situation rather than an average.

Book, or check first

Start with the free 15-minute intake call. It is with a clinician, fees are quoted on it, and if we are not the right service for your child we will tell you on that call rather than after you have paid for an appointment.

Not sure whether what you are seeing is a delay?

Our milestone checker asks eight age-specific questions and gives you a domain-by-domain snapshot — speech, motor, social, play and behaviour — on screen straight away. It will tell you plainly if your child is on track, and it comes with a free parent guide either way.
