Child Development Centre in Delhi

A child development centre in Delhi is not a service so much as an address: the place where assessment and every therapy a child might need after it sit under one roof, so a family is not sent on a fresh search each time something new is identified. The short answer is both our Delhi centres, Vasant Kunj and Malviya Nagar, and which one is a question of your journey rather than of the service.

Which of our Delhi centres you would use

We have two centres in Delhi, and which one you use is a question of geography rather than service, because the same pathway runs at both.

eMbrace Vasant Kunj, at C-7, Sector C, Pocket 5, Grand Vasant Kunj, is the larger team and serves south-west Delhi: Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K. Puram, Safdarjung Enclave, Anand Niketan, Shanti Niketan, Moti Bagh and Chanakyapuri.

eMbrace at Rainbow, Malviya Nagar, at FC-29, Plot No. 5, Geetanjali, beside Malviya Nagar Metro Station Gate No. 1, serves the Yellow Line corridor through Saket, Hauz Khas and Green Park, and the drive-in catchment of Greater Kailash and Defence Colony. It runs inside Rainbow Children's Hospital, so multidisciplinary therapy sits in the same building as assessment.

If you are in north or west Delhi, either centre is a real journey, and we would usually suggest starting online and coming in only for the parts that have to happen in a room.

The point of a centre rather than a list of separate providers is that appointments can be grouped. A child needing three disciplines can often be seen on one day rather than three, and the clinicians can speak to each other about your child without you having to carry messages between them.

For parking, the nearest drop-off point and the quickest route at your particular time of day, ask on the intake call. Traffic and parking around every one of these centres change enough through the day that current directions from someone who works there beat anything we could fix on a web page.

What a development centre is for

Children rarely have difficulty in only one area. A child referred for late speech often turns out to have sensory difficulties too; a child referred for behaviour often has an unidentified learning difficulty underneath. A centre exists so that the second and third question can be answered by the same team that answered the first.

How it starts

With a free 15-minute intake call, then a developmental assessment that maps your child across all areas rather than only the one that prompted the call. That produces a written baseline you can measure against, and a plan naming which disciplines are involved, in what order, and when it will be reviewed.

Where nothing further is needed we say so. A centre that finds work for every child who walks in is not a centre worth trusting.

What the centre does most of

Our Malviya Nagar centre runs inside Rainbow Children’s Hospital, which is the fullest version of this: assessment, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, behaviour therapy and special education at one address, with paediatric care in the same building. Vasant Kunj carries the largest psychology and therapy team.

The commonest route in is a paediatrician or a nursery raising a concern about speech or milestones in the first three years.

PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Birmingham, where she was also a postdoctoral researcher, and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in the UK. She designed the assessment and therapy pathways every eMbrace centre runs.

MSc in Clinical Health Psychology and Well-being from Middlesex University, UK. Behavioural therapy with neurodivergent children and parent training, from a neurodiversity-affirming position. Works in fluent English and native Hindi.

Mannat Kaur Arora, Psychologist

Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology from Amity University Haryana and an MA in Psychology from the University of Delhi. Assessment across MISIC, WISC-IV, Conners 3, CBCL, ISAA, CARS and the NIMHANS SLD battery. Works in English and Hindi.

Cheesha Kanwar, Psychologist

Completing an MSc in Clinical Psychology at Christ (Deemed to be University), with a BA (Hons) in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi. Behaviour therapy and assessment support using WISC-V, NEPSY-II, Conners-3 and BRIEF-2. Works in English and Hindi.

Dr Agrima Aggarwal, Occupational Therapist

Dr Agrima Aggarwal is a PhD scholar in Occupational Therapy at Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology. She holds an MOT in Neurology from SVNIRTAR, Utkal University, where she was gold medallist, and a BOT from PDUNIPPD, University of Delhi. She works in paediatric occupational therapy and early intervention, alongside neurorehabilitation and cognitive rehabilitation.

Upasna, Speech Language Pathologist

Upasna holds a Master and a Bachelor in Speech Language Pathology from the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Speech and Hearing Disability in Kolkata. Her paediatric work covers spoken language disorders, misarticulation, late language emergence, developmental verbal dyspraxia, developmental stuttering and cluttering, cleft lip and palate, cochlear implant support, cerebral palsy and pragmatic language difficulty in autism.

Our Malviya Nagar centre runs inside Rainbow Children's Hospital, New Delhi, which is why occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, behaviour therapy and special education sit in the same building as assessment.

We work with The British School in Chanakyapuri on psychoeducational, cognitive and risk assessments, therapy for children and adolescents, and workshops for teachers, parents and pupils.

At the American Embassy School in Chanakyapuri we carry out psychoeducational, cognitive, comprehensive and brief assessments, including risk assessments, and provide therapy for children and adolescents.

Where a child or adult needs psychiatric input, we work with Sukoon across Delhi NCR for psychiatric assessment, consultation and medication management, so you are not left to find a psychiatrist yourself.

Fees and how it is reviewed

Fees are quoted upfront on your intake call, itemised by what the plan actually contains rather than as a bundle.

Plans are reviewed on a set date against the written baseline. The measure that matters is not how many disciplines are involved but whether the specific things you came about have changed.
